Ugborough is a pretty Village, with a huge Church, on a mound overlooking the Village Square. There are two pubs, both of which serve excellent food. It is within walking distance, harder coming back than going down, as we live on top of the hill! Our house has magnificent views of the surrounding countryside, which is very traditional South Devon farmland, with high stone and earth-built banks, which we call hedges! In spring they are smothered with primroses, which later give way to campion, cow parsley, stitchwort and meadowsweet to name a few. Our four bedrooms are decorated and appointed to a high standard, with tea-making facilities and flat screen TVs in each. Two are en-suite and two have a private bathroom, these are all a generous size, and all have a bath and separate walk-in shower. There is a guest sitting room with TV and DVD player, and a woodburner for chilly evenings. The Breakfast room has views of the garden and the farm, and particularly on sunny days makes for an inspiring start! Many of the items offered for breakfast are organic and/or homemade. Almost everything is grown, bought or produced locally. We have lived here for 39 years now, and have created a warm and friendly place to holiday or take a break.
