Woody Bay Station

Woody Bay Station

Woody Bay Station is one of the original Lynton & Barnstaple Railway stations, opened in 1898 and closed along with the rest of the railway in September 1935.

Purchased in 1995, what you can see today is just the beginning of an exciting project to rebuild one of the world's most famous and picturesque narrow-gauge railways, the legendary Lynton & Barnstaple Railway.

We are open nearly all-year round for a train ride of two miles through glorious Exmoor countryside in heritage carriages built exclusively for the railway over 100 years ago. Now lovingly restored at great expense to their former glory so that our visitors can experience a taste of what it was like to travel by steam train in the early years of the last century.
Once purchased, tickets allow unlimited travel on the day - subject to availability of space on the trains. You can leave and return later if you like or stay with us all day. Keep your ticket and you can return and travel for half price as often as you want during the next 28 days.
